KULLAMANNEN ULTRA 100 MILE AND 109 KM 2019

Kullamannen Sportklubb welcomes you to the ninth edition of Kullamannen Ultra "Heaven, Sea and Hell" and the first edition of Ultra 109 km. You will run a challenging and beautiful route on Skåneleden from Båstad heading south passing Torekov and Ängelholm on your way to Kullaberg. We promise you a fascinating scenery while you climb the steep hills and overlooking the mighty sea.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Number BIB
You pick up your own number bib, time chip and gps tracker on Friday 1st of November, at Hotel Skansen in Båstad between 07:00 and 08:00.

Bus from Mölle to Båstad
Kullamannen will arrange bus transfer from Mölle to the start. Departure at 06:00. Note that you have to pre-book a seat. No booking no seat. Pre-book your seat at https://dinkurs.se/62476

Water aid stations
All runners have to bring their own cup. To protect the environment, we will not provide cups out on the trail.

Parking
Limited parking in Mölle, please travel together or use public transportation if possible, www.skanetrafiken.se.

Race center 
The Race Center and the finish area is located at Grand Hotel Mölle. By car on highway E6/E20, take exit 33, Traffic area N Varalöv, follow road 112 towards Höganäs. At Tunneberg take right and follow Norra Kustvägen to Mölle. 

Parking
The parking in Mölle is limited. Therefore please park your car at the assigned parking, on the meadow on the right a couple of hundred metres before reaching Mölle (just a 10 minute walk). 

Public transportation 
Take buss 222 from Helsingborg or Höganäs, www.skanetrafiken.se

The start is just outside Hotel Skansen, Båstad

Number bibs        
You pick up your own number bib, time chip and GPS tracker on Friday 1st of November, at Hotel Skansen in Båstad between 07:00-08:00.

Friday 1st of November at 09:00 for all Kullamannen Ultra 100 Mile and Ultra 109 km participants.

Transportation

The course closes at Saturday 21:00. Runners still at course by 21:00 will be guided from Djupadal to Race Center or transported from Kullens fyr to Race Center. No runners will be allowed at the course after Saturday 21:00.

Cut-off times       
There are two cut off times, runners must be checked OUT of the checkpoint BEFORE the cut-off time. 

  • 17:30 (Friday) at the drink/food station in Ängelholm/Råbocka.
  • 16:00 (Saturday) at the drink station/race center at Grand Hotel Mölle.

Showers/locker rooms             
There are no showers or locker rooms.

Toilets                 
Located at Race Center and start area.

Medical Aid          
Medical assistant is available at; the Race Center in Grand Hotel Mölle, the water/food station in Ängelholm/Råbocka and on top of Håkull.

Coffee Shop/Food            
At Race Center, Grand Hotel Mölle.
Opening hours, Friday: 12:00 - 21:00
Saturday: 05:00 until late.

Shop/Test center 
Runner's Store have a shop at Grand Hotell, Salomon and Suntoo will present their trail gear and shoes.

Price ceremony    
Preliminary time is 11:00 hrs on Saturday 2nd of November.

Spectators           
Recommended places to follow the runners are Torekov, Ängelholm/Råbocka, Svanshall, Himmelstorp, Kullen Lighthouse and at the Race center in Mölle.

Time/result           
We use electronic time keeping provided by Racetimer. You will be provided with a chip by Kullamannen/Racetimer. This chip should be place on your ankle according to instructions provided. 
The chip have to be returned after the race.

GPS Tracker        
Kullamannen will provide all Ultra 100 Miles and 109km competitors with a GPS tracker. The GPS tracker has to be carried by the competitor throughout the whole race. It should be placed according to instructions.

Dropping out       
If you for any reason have to drop out during the race please get to the nearest drink/food station or Race Center and inform the race organization. If that’s not possible you should call the emergency number.

Tests for doping          
Kullamannen will conduct doping tests. 

The course  
The course follows the Skåneleden from Båstad to Ängelholm Camping via Torekov and Vejbystrand. From Ängelholm Camping follows approx 11km marked course returning to Skåneleden close to Utvälinge. The course then runs on Skåneleden via Farhult and Skäret to Arild. From Arild follow the course marked with red and with tape and reflective markers towards Kockenhus and at Larås you enter the “Dödens Zon” loop. When you arrive at Grand Hotel Mölle Ultra 109km will reach goal and 100 mile runners will start the full 21km loop. To complete the "Heaven, Sea and Hell" you will do the loop three times.

The course starts with easy track combined with road running. After a smaller ascent from start the course is pretty flat following the coastal line to Arlid. From Arild the course is mostly singel track trail including technical parts and steep ascents and descents. Less than 5% of the course runs on asphalt.

Fences                
It’s strictly forbidden to climb over any fence and violations will result in disqualification!

Please pass all livestock with caution.

Kullamannen will provide participants with a road book.

Glimminge (approx 34 km)
Water and Umara energy drink, possibility to refill water.

Ängelholm/Råbocka (approx 55 km).
Water and Umara energy drink/Coca-cola/broth/coffee/soup.
Buns/banana/chips/raisin. Possibility to refill water.

Svanshall (approx 81 km)
Water and Umara energy drink, possibility to refill water. Follow the marking to the harbor.

Josefinelust (approx 104/125/146/167 km)
Water and Umara energy drink.

Grand Hotel Mölle (approx 111/131/152 km)
Water and Umara energy drink/cola/broth/coffee/veg soup and veg food.
Buns/banana/chips/raisin. Possibility to refill water.

Note you have to bring your own cup! 

Drop bag 

Ultra 109km

Possibility to get access to a drop bag in Ängelholm (approx. 55 km).

Runners traveling with the Kullamannen bus from Mölle to the start in Båstad have to leave the drop bag in Mölle by the Busstation (Kullamannnen will transport the drop bag to Ängelholm). Runners going directly to the start in Båstad have the possibility to leave drop bag for Ängelholm at the start. Kullamannen can not guarantee that drop bags in Ängelholm is returned to Mölle before Friday at 21:00.

Note! Drop bags to be marked clearly with your bib number and location "Ängelholm".

Maximum drop bag size is 60 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm.

Heaven, Sea and Hell" 100 mile         

Possibility to get access to a drop bag in Ängelholm (approx. 55 km) as well as at Hotel Grand, Mölle (approx 111/131/152 km). 

Runners traveling with the Kullamannen bus from Mölle to the start in Båstad have to leave the drop bags in Mölle (Kullamannnen will transport the drop bag to Ängelholm). Runners going directly to the start in Båstad have the possibility to leave drop bags for Ängelholm and Mölle at the start.

Please note that you have to leave two drop bags, one for Ängelholm and one for Mölle. Kullamannen can not guarantee that drop bags in Ängelholm is returned to Mölle before Friday at 21:00.

Note! Drop bags to be marked clearly with your bib number and location "Mölle" or "Ängelholm".

Mandatory equipment 

  • Road book*
  • Download GPX file to your mobile app (e.g. Topo GPS Sverige).
  • GPS-tracker* (To be returned after the race).
  • Chip* (To be returned after the race).
  • Bib* number + location on drop bags
  • Mobile phone (runners should store Kullamannens emergency number).
  • Headlight and extra batteries (from Ängelholm).
  • Water and windproof jacket.
  • Extra sweater.
  • Medical kit containing elastic bandage (minimum 1 metre), sports tape and compresses. Consider what you would need to support a spraining, etc. Think wisely.
  • Emergency blanket

You are responsible to bring enough energy and equipment to be able to carry through the race.

Race rules           

  • No support is allowed
  • You are not allowed to use pace runner
  • You have to follow the marked trail. When the route is marked with stripes, runners should follow these and otherwise follow the Skåneleden trail markers
  • Ýou have to follow any instructions or guidance of the race marshals
  • You have to help and assist any fellow racer that has got injured or ill in any way
  • The area of Kullaberg is a Nature Reserve and dropping any waste what so ever in the nature is absolutely forbidden!
  • If not following the above rules result in disqualification
  • Participating in the race is done on your own risk
  • Provide phone number to your contact person

UTMB points        
Kullamannen 100 miles is a 6 point qualification race to UTMB, Ultra Trail Du Mont Blanc.

Weather              
Keep an eye on the weather forecast. Weather can vary from 17°C to negative –5°C. Dress according to weather!
